Rentboy.com Hurricane Sandy Report from New York City Offices

Hurricane Sandy hit the New York regional area hard last week. For the world’s largest male escort site, Rentboy.com, online service has now been restored, but for seven days the site was down around the world. The storm caused billions of dollars in damage on the East Coast, destroyed thousands of homes, left millions without electric service, and killed over a hundred people.
Rentboy.com, with its office and server building in downtown New York City, found itself coping with flooded basements and no power. ”Our I.T. department always planned on a backup in the case of a natural disaster, they just never planned for 38 feet of seawater in the basement of our data center,” said Jeffrey Davids, CEO of Rentboy.com.
For the most part, the hurricane led to logistical nightmares for the company, but not property damage or loss of data. Rentboy.com will continue to have the best customer service and highest viewer traffic numbers in the industry, thanks to improvisation in the face of transit woes and other nightmares. “There’s been chaos dealing with restoring power and a lot of extra stress for everyone,” Davids said. “It was a crazy week for us, but we feel very fortunate. There are people without homes and there are lost lives, and our hearts and prayers go out to them. But New Yorkers are amazing and we are die-hard New Yorkers.”
Rentboy.com understands that escorts around the world lost business during last week’s service disruption. Our IT and sales department are working full time this week to add back the lost time.
